TCADP is piloting the Race to Heal Initiative, an online fundraising drive that is part of a national effort titled Rachel’s Fund. Rachel’s Fund was launched by the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty (NCADP) earlier this year to recognize the continuing need to broaden the base of support for abolition and break the cycle of violence in our society. Rachel’s Fund is named for, and inspired by, the life and work of the late abolitionist and activist Rachel King and by thousands of families of murder victims.
Donations generated by the Race to Heal Initiative will support TCADP’s efforts to build bridges to communities that have been impacted by violence and, in particular, to reach out to murder victim family members. See who is participating at
The TCADP member who raises the most money through the Race to Heal Initiative (between October 7 – December 7, 2009; minimum $500) will receive a generous reward from NCADP - free registration for the NCADP 2010 Annual Conference (January 14-17, 2010 in Louisville, Kentucky) and two nights lodging at the Seelbach Hilton Louisville Hotel, where the conference will take place. We encourage you all to compete as we pursue the finish line of abolition!
